OVERVIEW: Located at 7,200’ elevation, the Bauman conservation easement was impacted by accidental construction of a road through pristine ponderosa pine and xeric mountain meadow plant communities. Colorado Open Lands, the conservation easement holder, tasked AloTerra with 1.1 miles of road obliteration and return of the site to a pre-disturbance condition.
AloTerra did all design and construction for recontouring, erosion control and enhanced drainage. Two native seed mixes were created, as well as optimized soil amendments to reduce weed invasion & support seeded native plant species.
